In Memory
Pam Sandlin was an awesome
athlete and an incredible person. She was a teammate, a role model, a wife, a twin sister and a daughter. She was also a safety, a quarterback, a running back and a special teams player for this football team.
We lost Pam June 16, 2002 after a tragic horseback riding accident.
Pam was larger than life, and now, in a way, she is larger than death. She lives on in the spirit and strength she still gives this football team. She fulfilled a life-long dream to play football and she excelled at every position.
Pam played the game with class, style, passion and dedication. She blew into practice one day, said she wanted to play football, and our lives will never be the same.
The number 33 will never be worn by another member of the Corvallis Pride. Her retired jersey reminds us that sports can bring essence and meaning to our lives. We retired her jersey number before our first ever playoff game on June 22nd, 2002.
We wear her number on our helmets and in our hearts.
Pam inspired women around the nation to play the game of football. We all miss her very much, and we shout her number at every practice and every game, because she will always be a part of this team.
Thanks, Pam, for the memories.
